Bluestone Health and Rehabilitation is thrilled to announce that our very own Christina Henderson has won the 2026 Best Practices Award from the West Virginia Healthcare Association!
This prestigious award will be presented to Christina in September at the WVHCA Annual Conference in Morgantown.
This award was won for the "Around the World in 80 Days" activity that Christina spearheaded.
According to her nomination, "The 'Around the World in 80 Days' program implemented by the Activities Department is an example of a best-practice therapeutic recreation program in long-term care. This initiative promotes cognitive stimulation, social engagement, cultural exploration, and meaningful activity for residents. Residents are provided with a personal 'passport,' which they bring to each session. As they 'travel' to a new country, they receive a passport stamp representing that destination, creating a sense of progression and accomplishment throughout the program."
We are incredibly proud of Christina and her entire staff, and we are endlessly grateful for her dedication to her residents and for ensuring that every resident feels seen and special.
Wishing you all a very safe, joyful, and memorable Independence Day!
We feel truly honored and deeply grateful for the wonderful opportunity to care for our patients, residents, families, and the entire community. Today, we come together to celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom and unity with each of you.
